Revision Policy

What qualifies as a revision, what is considered additional work, and how revision requests are handled at Avalanche Consult.

Last updated: August 2026

At Avalanche Consult, we want every client to receive work that meets the requirements agreed upon at the beginning of a project. This Revision Policy explains what qualifies as a revision, what is considered additional work, and how revision requests are handled.

1. What Is a Revision?

A revision is a reasonable adjustment to delivered work based on the original requirements agreed before the project began. Examples of revisions may include:

2. What Is Not a Revision?

A request is generally considered new or additional work when it changes the original scope, requirements or direction of the project. This may include:

Additional work may require a new quotation or additional payment.

3. Revision Period

Clients should review delivered work and communicate revision requests as soon as reasonably possible. Unless otherwise stated in the project agreement, revision requests should be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Requests submitted after the applicable revision period may be treated as a new service.

4. Included Revisions

The number of revisions included in a project depends on the service and the agreement made before work begins. Where revisions are included, they apply only to the agreed scope of the project. The applicable revision terms will be communicated to the client before the project begins.

5. Supervisor or Institutional Feedback

Where a client receives feedback from a supervisor, lecturer, institution, examiner or other authorised reviewer after delivery, Avalanche Consult may assist with incorporating that feedback.

However, if the feedback substantially changes the original project scope, requirements, methodology or direction, the requested changes may be treated as additional work. Clients should provide the complete and clear feedback received so that the required changes can be properly assessed.

5a. When a Supervisor Changes the Project Topic

Supervisors commonly ask for changes to a project topic during the course of study. We distinguish between two situations:

Where a genuine topic change occurs through no fault of the client, we do not charge the full price of a new project. Instead, we offer a loyalty rate of 40–50% of our standard price for the affected chapter(s), in recognition of the client's existing relationship with us and the fact that some elements of the original work (formatting, referencing style, general structure) can often carry over.

To reduce the likelihood of this situation, we recommend clients get their topic and objectives approved by their supervisor before the full project is written, and share that approval with us as a checkpoint. Where this checkpoint has been confirmed, a later change of direction by the supervisor is treated as a new-topic scenario under this clause rather than a quality concern with the original work.

6. Data Analysis Revisions

For statistical or data-analysis projects, revisions may include correcting an analysis where the original instructions or agreed methodology were not followed. Revisions generally do not include:

Such requests may require an additional fee.

7. Client-Caused Changes

Where a revision is required because the client:

the requested work may be considered additional work rather than a standard revision.

8. How to Request a Revision

To request a revision, contact Avalanche Consult through the agreed communication channel and provide:

Clear and specific instructions help us assess and process revision requests efficiently.

9. Revision Turnaround

Revision timelines depend on:

The expected revision timeline will be communicated after the request has been reviewed.

10. Quality Commitment

If an error or omission is identified that directly results from Avalanche Consult not following the originally agreed requirements, we will make reasonable efforts to correct it without charging an additional revision fee.

Our goal is not simply to deliver a document. Our goal is to deliver work that meets the agreed requirements and gives you confidence in the final result.

11. Contact
